Unreasonable vs. Reasonable

Standard

What may seem unreasonable to us is actually reasonable to God. To human understanding it seems unreasonable for God to come down to our level through Jesus Christ but to God it is reasonable for us. When Jesus came down to our level He lived a human life but, of course, He was also divine. Jesus was one of us except for the fact that He was without sin and He is the Son of God. Christ was God’s way of bringing salvation to the world and this was accomplished through His suffering and death. The unreasonable act of God giving us Christ to live, feel, suffer and die was very reasonable for our forgiveness and salvation.

Many people will question the reason for suffering. How can our suffering be reasonable? Our suffering is reasonable because suffering has a salvific dimension, meaning that our sufferings and difficulties are used for our salvation or the salvation of others. When we suffer, we suffer along with Christ on the Cross. I have consecrated my difficulties to the greater glory of God. I offer up my difficulties and sufferings for the souls of my family and friends, for the souls of Purgatory and for whatever God sees fit. We need to all give it to Christ.

Suffering:Where God transforms the unreasonable into the reasonable.
